Shopmobility Service

Our Local and Tourist Information Centre runs a free Shopmobility scheme, which loans motorised scooters or manual wheelchairs, to anyone needing assistance to get around the town centre.

Letchworth Garden City Shopmobility is a scheme to enable anyone with a mobility problem, whether temporary or permanent, to get out and about in the Town Centre. The shopmobility scheme encompasses the loan of wheelchairs and electric scooters, all of which are available totally free of charge.

There are no set standards or levels of disability that you have to meet to be eligible, and you don’t even have to be a Letchworth Garden City resident. You just need to complete a simple registration form and prove your identity with a telephone or utility bill. If you have trouble getting around the Town Centre please visit our Local and Tourist Information Centre and enquire about our shopmobility scheme.
