Health and Wellbeing
Our commitment to health and wellbeing is led by the Ernest Gardiner Treatment Centre caring for over 5,000 patients each year. Free to those who live locally, our hospital typically helps patients restore confidence, reduce pain and increase mobility.
Services include nursing, physiotherapy and occupational therapy, from a friendly team of highly qualified professionals. We run the Treatment Centre without any funding from the National Health Service, whilst local charity, the League of Friends raise money for new or replacement equipment.
Our Local and Tourist Information Centre runs a free Shopmobility scheme, which loans motorised scooters or manual wheelchairs, to anyone needing assistance to get around the town centre.
