Recreation and Leisure
We fund and run a range of leisure facilities across the town…
Broadway Cinema, our four-screen independent cinema, shows the top blockbusters each week, as well as special screenings for parents with small children and those with babies. We also host volunteer-based Letchworth Film Club each month, screening world films, all in a beautiful 1930s Art Deco picture house.
Our educational working farm, Standalone Farm has all the ingredients for a great family day out; farmyard animals, tractors, trains, play areas and picnics. Each year, thousands of visitors come to get a taste of farm life, enjoying everything from milking demonstrations to tractor rides.
Our Local and Tourist Information Centre, based in the heart of the town centre, offers help and advice to those planning trips away or looking for activities in the Garden City. We welcome around 30,000 visitors a year as well as promote around 400 local and community events to our visitors face-to-face and online each year.
We are looking to create a regional arts and culture base within Letchworth attracting visitors, artists and performers from the surrounding counties and beyond, whilst continuing to support local groups. This will build on Plinston Hall’s previous entertainment offer including music, dance, drama and debates.
