I have worked extensively across the Higher and Further Education sectors for 18 years. Beginning as a Dance Lecturer in Leeds, I built a thriving dance department from Level 2 to Level 6, which included writing my own Foundation and Top-up Degree programmes.

In 2013, I moved to London for a work promotion and developed my managerial skills. In 2016, I moved to Letchworth Garden City having accepted the role of Head of Creative Arts at North Hertfordshire College. In addition to this, I have worked for various awarding bodies as an examiner, writer and standards verifier. I hold a BA in Dance and Theatre, a Certificate of Education (FE) and a MA in Performance Studies.

The proudest achievements in my career so far have been projects in the community or in collaboration with other arts organisations, that have, in turn, made a positive impact on my students and the wider community.

Since joining NHC three years ago, I have set up an art group for home educated children, collaborated with local primary schools and supported my department to obtain flagship status for the Royal Opera House Design Challenge.

I hope that my knowledge and experience of the Arts, curriculum design and managing collaborative arts projects will support the Heritage Foundation’s focus on community wellbeing through arts, culture and leisure activities. Most importantly, I genuinely care about enriching young people's lives through the Arts and that the Arts and education should be accessible to all.
