I have lived in Letchworth for 35 years and have always felt extremely lucky to have the Heritage Foundation. I admire the contribution they make to residents’ quality of life, through affordable housing, amenities and the environment of the town.
I have had an interest in theatre for more than 70 years. My introduction to amateur drama was in 1967 at the Toynbee Theatre, East London. When I moved to Letchworth with my husband and young daughter in the mid-1980s, I discovered the Settlement Players and have been acting and directing plays for them ever since. I have also held the role of chairperson, which involved applying for grants.
Although my passion is theatre, I have an appreciation of all the arts. Through my membership of the Players, I’ve been closely associated with The Letchworth Settlement for many years. I regularly attend events in the town and have been part of groups such as the LALG and Town Twinning. I know a lot of different people and organisations involved in local artistic endeavours, so I believe I would be an excellent link between the Foundation and this thriving community.
