Sam is policy director at The Children’s Society and is also the outgoing chair of End Child Poverty, a coalition of around 100 charities, faith and community organisations campaigning for an end to child poverty in the UK. Sam has lived in Letchworth’s Wilbury ward for five years now and has loved being part of the distinctive and ever changing local community. Until recently he was also a trustee of the local Citizens Advice Bureau.
On his appointment Sam said, "Addressing poverty and improving the social welfare of local residents has always been at the very heart of The Heritage Foundation’s values. In my role I want to work to make sure that the foundation does everything it can to act on these values, so that no-one in Letchworth is excluded from taking part in the life of the town as a result of poverty or other social disadvantage."
