Broadway Cinema & Theatre Manager (Systems & Technology)

Summary

Broadway Cinema & Theatre is a much-loved independent venue that has been at the heart of Letchworth’s cultural life for more than 80 years. It is one of several cultural and heritage venues operated by the Heritage Foundation.

We are looking for an enthusiastic person to join our team as a manager to help us make the most of our systems and technology to create a great customer experience. So, if you love film and have a flair for technology, we would love to hear from you. 

Role
  • Act as general manager of Broadway Cinema and take responsibility for the day to day running of the venue.
  • Lead on the box office EPOS and loyalty schemes for the venue, driving audience engagement through different channels.
  • Work closely with our partners to carry out upgrades to our systems and work with our digital projection contractors with the support of the AV & cinema technician.
  • Work with the Communications and Marketing Team to review audience data to shape audience development plans. 
  • Manage relationships with agents, promoters, performing arts companies, touring companies, technicians and arts marketing companies.
  • Ensure Broadway Cinema & Theatre is a welcoming and vibrant space for audiences and performers.
  • Support the Venues Manager in ensuring that the venue is a commercial success and offers a high-quality experience that is accessible to everyone in our community.
  • Undertake a range of tasks to ensure the effective daily operational management of the venue, from managing the building and line managing staff to contributing offering a first-rate customer service experience.  
  • Ensure all policies, procedures and practices are understood by the team and implemented to a high standard, including health and safety.
  • As part of the management team, provide support with the artistic direction for Broadway through cinema, live streaming and our future strategy for a renewed theatre offer.
Skills and experience
  • Two years’ experience of managing people and systems
  • Customer service skills and experience in a customer facing role
  • Experience of delivering business objectives
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Solid administrative, IT, planning and organisational skills
  • An understanding of the cinema and theatre industries
