Family Learning Volunteer

Summary

Are you enthusiastic and creative? Do you like working with children and families? We’re looking for volunteers to help assist in our family workshops for arts, heritage and culture.

Role

As a Family Learning Volunteer, you’ll be a helping hand at our Saturday Family Art workshops at the Broadway Gallery and occasional Museum family events. You’ll be a friendly face to our visiting families, helping children and parents to get creative as well as answering their questions and assisting with the set up and tidying.

The impact you’ll have 

You’ll be helping local people and visitors to engage with art, culture and local history. Experiencing art and culture is a key part of wellbeing and at the heritage foundation, we’re passionate about helping people in Letchworth to access art, history and culture. 

 What you will be doing 

  • Setting up and packing away activities with the workshop leader
  • Welcoming families and signing them into the session
  • Helping them with their art projects if they get stuck
  • Ensuring the safety of visitors and in the event of a fire, safely evacuating the space 
Skills and experience

 This role is for you if you’re: 

  • Friendly, approachable, good with children (and their grown-ups!)
  • Passionate about art, culture and history 
  • Happy to complete the necessary training 
  • Able to follow health and safety procedures
