In May 2026, Letchworth Garden City Heritage Foundation awarded £38,000 to Local Community, Recreation & Leisure, and Arts, Culture & Heritage grant programmes.
Following an exceptionally strong and oversubscribed round of applications, the Heritage Foundation’s Community Investment Committee awarded £38,000 for applications submitted in May. The high quality of submissions impressed the committee and reflects the strength, ambition and creativity of local groups. Due to the high demand, the Local Community and Recreation & Leisure grant programmes are now closed for the remainder of 2026.
The strength of this response demonstrates the depth of community-led activity taking place across the area. From sport and recreation to inclusive community activity and local events, the funded projects will help people connect, stay active and take part in opportunities that strengthen local life.

This latest round of grants awarded highlights the power of local ideas and the enthusiasm of organisations committed to making a positive difference in their communities.
