In July 2026, the Heritage Foundation’s Community Investment Committee met to look ahead and make future plans and consider how the committee would continue to make an impact following the launch of the community trust in 2027.
An honest and robust conversation – supported by data from the Indices of Deprivation – identified that there remained an ongoing need in the town for key services which are in part funded by the committee. As plans are further refined for exactly how the committee will operate in conjunction with the community trust, the committee agreed to continue funding several key partners in 2027.
Citizens Advice North Herts will receive £150,000 in annual funding to support its debt advice programme which – in 2025 – assisted 115 individuals improve their financial position through targeted and personalised debt advice.
The committee agreed to continue funding Letchworth Schools Family Support Team with a grant of £120,000. This money contributes towards a vital service working with children, young people and their families, providing a crucial pastoral link between schools and families.
The Jackman’s Early Years Partnership will continue to be part-funded by Letchworth Garden City Heritage Foundation in 2027. Over the years, the offer from the Jackman’s Early Years Partnership has become a familiar and comfortable place for residents, and an impactful and important supplement to young people’s school education. The annual grant of £79,250 will enable this work to continue into 2027.
The funding of the programme is part of the Heritage Foundation’s strategic aim to make Letchworth a Great Place to Grow Up. Alastair Stewart leads this aim – he said:
