David Roberts

General Governor

I originally became a Governor because I felt  I had the experience both from a professional and volunteering role to make that difference in the community I love and am proud of.

I am an experienced manager who is used to working with strategic proposals and implementing the ideas from them, using a variety of techniques which involve different trams, people and stakeholders together with other business improvement techniques. A major part of my role is improving the way that an organisation functions, this I believe is a skill that is easily transferable to an organisation such as the Heritage Foundation.

In my personal life I am very much involved in developing rugby within Letchworth and Hertfordshire at youth and adult levels. I was the youth chair at Letchworth for a number of years and then went on to be responsible for the rugby development within Herts. I am responsible for developing all the volunteers, the coaching and playing developments together with the establishment of a rolling four year strategic plan used for the major funding streams from the Rugby Football Union and company sponsors. I believe that people should be consulted in any major initiative and their views sought, but there does need to be direction set to achieve the required optimum results.

I hope to make a successful and visible contribution to Heritage Foundation activities.
