The 2025 winter season was an important time for community engagement at Broadway Cinema & Theatre. Through a range of initiatives, the cinema continued its commitment to connecting local families and young people with film and live theatre.
A highlight of the season was the ongoing success of Broadway’s popular Kids Club. With regular weekend morning screenings and tickets priced at just £1.75 per person, the scheme is subsidised by Letchworth Garden City Heritage Foundation to make cinema visits more accessible and to encourage families to spend quality time together. Kids Club runs throughout the year, with tickets available to book via the Broadway Cinema website.
In addition, Broadway offered ten free tickets to selected partner organisations for the SPADS (Song, Pantomime & Drama Society) production of Rapunzel. The 2025 pantomime also featured a relaxed performance, ensuring that everyone—particularly those with SEND—could enjoy theatre in a welcoming and comfortable environment.
Community outreach extended further through a special reduced-price screening of Zootropolis for local Brownies and Guides, as well as a private screening of Wicked for Emil Dale students as part of their performing arts programme. By working closely with local groups, Broadway continues to inspire young people to engage with the arts and experience the magic of cinema.
Feedback from the community highlights just how important Broadway is to Letchworth. In the cinema’s 2025 customer satisfaction survey, visitors were asked about Broadway’s role within the town. The statement “Broadway Cinema contributes to Letchworth’s thriving community by creating a vibrant and engaging environment for all ages and backgrounds” received an outstanding average rating of 9.24 out of 10.
Further audience feedback was also gathered as part of Broadway’s application for Cinema of the Year. A video showcasing some of these highlights can be viewed below.
Looking ahead, Broadway Cinema & Theatre will soon be launching MyBroadway GOLD, an exclusive loyalty experience offering free cinema tickets, special discounts, access to member-only events, and much more. In January 2026, we invited a select number of our most regular customers to an Art Deco-themed drinks reception and movie screening, where we introduced MyBroadway and answered questions about what the new scheme will look like. Following this, we have been working closely with a group of cinema regulars to test and prepare the scheme ahead of its launch in February. It's important to us that this new loyalty scheme is a big benefit to our loyal cinema users, and we have made sure customers have been a big part of the development journey. We hope you're interested in finding out more when the scheme launches very soon...
