LG1: The Future of Letchworth Garden City
Welcome to the future of Letchworth Garden City. We want to work with you to create new places that you will value and build much-needed new homes on the land north of Letchworth (referred to as ‘LG1’).
On 8 November 2022, the North Hertfordshire Local Plan 2011 – 2031 was approved for adoption by councillors at North Herts Council. More information can be found on the Council's website.
In recent years, we have engaged with local communities on a number of topics regarding the masterplan for LG1.
We are committed to a programme of continuous engagement with the community, using a range of engagement methods to capture your valuable feedback.

July 2024 - Strategic Masterplan adopted to enable 900-home development in Letchworth Garden City
Following a programme of local consultation (including online surveys and in-person consultation events) the Draft Strategic Masterplan Document for the Land North of the Grange (LG1) was submitted to North Herts Council.
The document was approved by North Herts Council in July 2024.
