Volunteer Accounts Assistant - three week placement

Summary

Are you looking to enhance your CV and gain experience of working in a finance team?  Are you enthusiastic with a keen eye for detail? If so, we would love to hear from you.

You will be working across the Finance department within the different sections of sales ledger/cash management, accounts payable, management accounts, and you'll get an overview of VAT.

The placement starts on Monday 16 November, finishing Friday 4 December 2020. 

This opportunity is open to people of all ages, whether you have just left school or are looking for a carerer change.

Role

What we can offer:

  • Opportunity to gain experience of working in a Finance department
  • Hands on experience in Sales Ledger and Accounts Payable

Work is likely to involve:

  • Accurately coding and posting supplier invoices to our Finance system (SAGE) and our purchase order system (iDocs)
  • Producing payment runs for approval
  • Supplier statement reconciliations
  • Helping to raise and send out sales invoices and credit notes
  • Resolving customer queries
  • Provide support to the accounts assistant as required
Skills and experience

No previous experience necessary, full support will be provided. 

  • A strong interest in Finance
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to work independently, IT literate
  • Attention to detail
  • Willingness to learn from others
Hours
Monday to Friday 9.30am - 4.30pm
Location
Working with our Finance department virtually through Microsoft Teams
