Plenty of excellent shows coming up at the Broadway Theatre

Hi all,

We’re well underway with our exciting Autumn season at Broadway, but still plenty of treats for everyone, so don’t let the clocks going back keep you at home!

This Thursday, 19 October we welcome a beautiful piece, White Feather Boxer by Take The Space. This moving and funny play was inspired by Muhammad Ali’s refusal to fight in Vietnam, and tells the story of a Quaker boxer teaching an angry young girl to box. It’s a must for ages 11 + boys and girls alike.  The performance is followed by a Q & A, so if you’d like to have your say, do join us!

We have the delicious Ruby Wax joining us on Saturday 21 October….sorry if you’ve missed the boat as she’s sold out, but if comedy’s your bag, we still have a handful of tickets available for Andy Parsons on 3 November..

Half term sees a new adaptation of Michael Morpurgo’s King Arthur. This thrilling tale of magic, heroism and love is brought to us by award winning Story Pocket Theatre, and is great for ages 8+.

For our littlies we have a gorgeous adaptation of Hans Christian Anderson’s enduring tale, The Ugly Duckling, presented by Tutti Frutti and York Theatre Royal. For ages 3+ this wonderful production provides a magical and thought provoking early theatrical experience.

2017 marks the 70th anniversary of Partition in India, and we have programmed a wonderful piece, Child Of The Divide by actress Sudha Buchar, well known for her many TVappearances including Coronation Street and Stella. The play, told the through the eyes of children on both sides of the divide follows the story of a young boy lost in the upheaval.

We are proud to be hosting on November 19, a concert version of a brand new musical, The Navigator which was inspired by the true life stories of Bomber Command, the men, the war their lives and their loves. Popular actress Sue Holderness introduces a cast of musical stars from London’s West End in what promises to be fabulous evening. Several distinguished RAF Bomber Command Veterans will be joining us on the night, so if this is your thing, do book early as it’s selling fast!

If you fancy sitting back and losing yourself in the best of opera and musical theatre, Tenors Unlimited won’t disappoint. This ‘Rat Pack Of Opera’ with voices to break hearts will be bringing Venice to Vegas to Broadway on 25 November, and lucky Box Of Frogs Of Theatre Academy have been invited to join them onstage for a few of the numbers. Again, selling fast, so don’t miss out.

It’s been great seeing familiar faces returning time and time again to our lovely new theatre, so thank you all for your ongoing support.

Bye for now

Sue
