Forty Plus Cycling Club: Today, Thursday. This week’s ride is to Gustard Wood, with lunch at The Cross Keys. Next week’s ride is to Marston Moretaine Forest Centre. Meet at 10.30am. At The Three Magnets, 18-20 Leys Avenue. For more details call Geoff, the ride organiser on 01582 618196.

Coffee Morning: Friday, August 2. Pop along for a friendly chat at this coffee morning, with freshly brewed tea or coffee and a slice of home-made cake. At Letchworth Parish Hall, Broadway. From 10.30am – 12pm. All proceeds in aid of the Parish funds. All welcome.

Summer Fair: Saturday, August 3. Join this first Saturday in the month community event. Popular stalls of homemade cakes and marmalade, bric-a-brac, cards, clothes, toys, books, plant stall and freebie recycling table. Enjoy delicious refreshments, and a children’s activity table. At Letchworth Free Church Hall, Gernon Road. From 10am – 11.30am. Free parking and admission.

Letchworth Arts and Crafts Market: Saturday, August 3. Upcycled, pre-loved and handmade crafts, with vintage and retro items, original paintings and prints, homeware, china and ceramics, embroidery, knitting and much more. At Leys Avenue. Just Coffee: Saturday, August 3. Pop along to this coffee morning and enjoy a free tea, coffee and biscuits whilst listening to a musician play the piano. Each month there is a different themed subject. At St Paul’s Church, Pixmore Way. From 10.30am – 12pm. 

Active Letchworth – Neurobalance: Saturday, August 3. An exercise class for people with a long-term health condition, run by neurological physiotherapist. Standalone Farm – Sheep Dog Displays: Monday, August 5 to Friday, August 9.   Ever wondered how a farmer manages his flock using just a stick and a whistle? Come and see sheepdogs in action as they help farmer David round up his flock of sheep in this exciting show. Mindfulness Silent Retreat Week with Dr Neelam Taneja; Monday, August 5 to Friday 9. Book for one, two, or all 5 sessions. Kingfisher Club: Monday, August 5. Howard Cottage Housing Association runs this club for local people who have low to moderate dementia or are socially isolated. Ceroc Classes: Monday, August 5. Ceroc is a fusion of many dance forms including but not limited to Salsa, Ballroom, Latin American, Tango and Jive. A great way to meet people and keep fit too. Letchworth Garden City Twinning Association – Wissen Trip: Book now for this trip September 12 – Monday September 16. This local group are organising a trip to Wissen in Germany. The visit includes Wissen’s annual Bavarian Evening (Oktoberfest) on Saturday, September 14. Wissen hosts have a full programme of possible trips/events which will be available nearer the time.
