Letchworth Salvation Army Christmas Present Appeal: Today, Thursday to Wednesday, December 5. The Salvation Army needs your help to make Christmas special for children, families and others who have little or nothing under the tree on Christmas morning. All new, unwrapped toys and gifts are welcome and will be distributed in your community in time for Christmas. Please leave your gifts at: Sainsbury’s, Third Avenue, The Tourist Information Centre, Station Road, The Salvation Army Charity Shop, Leys Avenue or Morrison’s, Broadway. Letchworth Jazz Appreciation Society: Today, Thursday. Tony Sudweeks will be presenting a programme entitled “All Blues” – a variety of jazz from across the decades. The Nutcracker Trail: On now until Friday December 21. Two friendly five foot tall Nutcracker Soldiers are visiting Garden Square. They will be moving from shop to shop, so be on your guard! Hunt down the Nutcrackers in order to win a prize. Simply note down which store you see them in each week and then submit your entry form to Specsavers in Garden Square before Friday 21st December. Eduardo Paolozzi – General Dynamic F.U.N.: On now until Sunday, January 13. An exhibition of prints by the pioneer of pop art. Sir Eduardo Paolozzi (1924–2005) was one of the pioneers of the pop art movement in the UK. Born in Scotland, Paolozzi was a compulsive collector and a jumbler of icons.
