Earlier this year we awarded Letchworth Cricket Club a grant of £12,000 towards the refurbishment of two lane cricket nets at Whitethorn Lane.
The existing nets were 13 years old and suffering from significant wear and tear, making them unsafe and unusable. During a presentation to the Grants Committee, the Cricket Club outlined how refurbished facilities would enable increased participation (and member levels) at both junior and senior levels, plus the promotion of both women’s and disability cricket in the Letchworth and surrounding community.
Who knows, maybe the future women’s cricket World Cup stars will hail from Letchworth!
