Broadway Theatre welcomes Jeeves and Wooster in Perfect Nonsense

Take your seats with caution because Jeeves and Wooster’s 2020 UK tour is now underway! This dynamic duo will be hitting Broadway Theatre on Friday 6 and Saturday 7 March 2020 with three live performances of Jeeves and Wooster In Perfect Nonsense - a P.G. Wodehouse adaptation presented by The Theatre Chipping Norton and Barn Theatre.

Audiences are in for a treat as aristocratic buffoon, Bertie Wooster, has hired the theatre to present his one‐man show detailing a recent and rather spectacular series of misadventures, including the theft of a novelty cow creamer and a narrow escape from unwanted matrimony.

The play has already enjoyed successful runs in the West End and won the 2014 Olivier Award for Best New Comedy. Created by the Goodale Brothers, it will visit more than 40 venues across the country during the tour, which stars Matthew Cavendish as Bertie, Andrew Ashford as Jeeves and Andrew Cullum as Seppings.

Cavendish is a regular company member of Mischief Theatre, performing in Broadway and West End productions such as The Play That Goes Wrong and Comedy About a Bank Robbery, while Ashford performed for several years in UK tours of The Full Monty and The Ladykillers.

Kevin Parker, Creative Programmer, Broadway Theatre says: “Broadway Theatre is delighted to be working with The Theatre Chipping Norton to bring this production to life in the heart of Letchworth Garden City. The Theatre Chipping Norton is a much-loved Oxfordshire venue and experienced producer of touring theatre, which shares plenty in common with the Broadway Theatre.”

It’s a theatre, arthouse cinema, gallery and concert hall in one; a resource for its community, but also a professional venue with a passion for uniqueness and making a big noise! Perfect Nonsense is directed by the theatre’s Artistic Director, John Terry.”

Writers Robert and David Goodale have spent their lives committed to making people laugh by creating a range of ridiculously brilliant characters - and this time is no exception!  In 2010 they worked together to adapt P.G. Wodehouse’s The Code of the Woosters for stage, out of which Perfect Nonsense was born.

Tickets for Jeeves and Wooster In Perfect Nonsense are £19 each and £17.50 for concessions. The production is suitable for ages seven and up and has a runtime of 125 minutes. Performances take place on Friday 6 March 2020 at 7.30pm and Saturday 7 March 2020 at 2.30pm and 7.30pm.
