Exciting new Broadway Season launching this Autumn

What do pre-historic creatures, Shakespeare and jugglers have in common? They all make up part of Broadway Theatre’s Autumn/Winter 2018 season, which also brings big-name comedians and imaginative children’s theatre to Letchworth Garden City.

Family

Following a successful run in Letchworth last summer, Dinosaur World Live returns to Broadway on 28 and 29 October, bringing to life a host of pre-historic creatures. This interactive children’s show sold out last year, so book early for your chance to meet the famous Tyrannosaurus Rex, Triceratops and Giraffatitan.

Julia Donaldson’s Stick Man comes to visit on 25 September, in this award-winning adaptation by Scamp Theatre. Packed with puppetry, songs, and live music, this show promises to keep children engrossed from start to finish.

Splash Test Dummies visit on 9 September with an hour filled with stunt work, acrobatics, juggling and slapstick comedy for the whole family to enjoy. Then at Christmas to close out the season, Santa comes to town in Santa’s New Sleigh, which includes an opportunity to meet Santa Claus himself after the show and a free gift for every child.

Comedy

Continuing the trend of bringing excellent touring comedy to the town, shows from household names such as Phill Jupitus and Omid Djalili will be hitting the Broadway stage this autumn. Later in the season, two of Britain’s finest impressionists in Rory Bremner and Jan Ravens will bring their brand of satire to Letchworth on 14 November, featuring everyone from Farage to Lumley.

Drama

This season also sees some thrilling drama performances, including Merely Theatre’s interpretation of Shakespeare classic Macbeth on 3 October. The theatre company create energetic yet clear Shakespeare productions, taking this famous work of literature and making it truly accessible for a modern audience.

Staying with the historical theme, Not About Heroes comes to the Theatre on 21 October, exploring the unique friendship between World War One poets Wilfred Owen and Siegfried Sassoon, who bonded over their mutual hatred of war and love of poetry.

Beth Dawes, Marketing Manager for Broadway Theatre, said: “We’re very excited to be bringing another excellent season of live theatre to Letchworth and Broadway Theatre. We’re welcoming back Dinosaur World after their hugely successful first visit, as well as a great selection of new acts.

“We’ve had great feedback from audiences on the summer season, and we think that this season will prove to be a big success as well!”
