Foundation reopens car park to ease commuter parking

The former car park at Plinston Hall has reopened this week aimed at commuters and long stay visitors to Letchworth town centre.

The newly-named Broadway Gardens Car Park, which has been refurbished by the Heritage Foundation, has spaces for up to 58 cars and costs £4 per day or £16 per week.

Mark Coles, Head of Property at the Foundation, said:  “This is good news for Letchworth workers, commuters and shoppers as we are able to offer lower daily and weekly rates right in the town centre and close to the train station.  This should also help ease parking on some residential streets.”

The car park was formerly operated by North Herts College but was returned to the Foundation when the college closed its Letchworth campus.  Euro Car Parks will manage the site on a daily basis along with the Foundation’s other car parks at the Wynd, Arena Parade and Rowlands Way. A number of spaces have been retained for those who rent Plinston Hall in the future.
