I have lived in Letchworth since 1969, although I am by birth a Kentish man and my wife Valerie is a Geordie. Both our children were born here and went to Icknield, Wilbury and Fearnhill Schools.
I worked in Life Assurance administration, ultimately in Business Analysis. I spent some time working for a computer software company which sold its administration system to various companies, mainly on the European mainland. This meant I worked in a number of other countries and am still very interested to see how things are handled outside the UK.
I have been a member of the North Herts Council on and off since it was set up, and currently represent Letchworth East.
Over several years, I have been involved with various local organisations. Currently I am on the Fearnhill Governors and the Letchworth Garden City Community Group (who run the Mrs Howard Hall) and am one of the Council representatives on the North Herts CAB. Also, up to last March, I served for two years as Chairman of the Letchworth Croquet Club, of which I am still a Member.
