The Treatment Centre is now closed as staff are now assisting community services following the government update regarding the Coronavirus.
If you require hearing aid batteries, these can be obtained from either Lister Hospital, Park Drive Health Centre or Bedford Road Health Centre, but do please check whether these services are still open before travelling. You can also request postal deliver of batteries, details for which can be found here.
Our Ernest Gardiner Treatment Centre provides a high level of specialised healthcare to patients from in and around Letchworth Garden City.
It incorporates nursing, physiotherapy and occupational therapy, all from highly qualified professionals without any funding from the National Health Service.
The running costs of the Treatment Centre are met by us, and ‘The League of Friends’ (registered charity no. 289018). We regularly raise funds to buy all the new and replacement equipment, fixtures and fittings used inside the Treatment Centre.
With the summer weather reaching record breaking temperatures, we're promoting Public Health England's advice for keeping cool in the heatwave.
Care Quality Commission Inspection
The Ernest Gardiner Treatment Centre was inspected by the Care Quality Commission in January 2017.
A CQC inspection assesses the services provided by healthcare service to make sure they meet fundamental standards of quality and safety. When inspecting a healthcare service, there are five key questions that are being asked:
- Are they safe?
- Are they effective?
- Are they caring?
- Are they responsive to people’s needs
- Are they well-led?
While the CQC have no legal duty to rate independent community clinics, their report found the Treatment Centre to be delivering good practice across the board.
The below graphic shows patient feedback and statistics from our Q1 Patient Feedback Questionnaire 2019.
