The Advisory Management Committee is an independent group that advises our Householder Applications Committee on applications for consent to alter homes within the Garden City. We are currently recruiting for two voluntary Community Representatives to join the Committee to assist in reviewing applications.
Are you interested in the heritage of the world’s first Garden City?
• Do you own a Letchworth Garden City home, covered by the Scheme of Management?
• Are you interested in Garden City house design?
• Can you spare one day every two months?
Interview dates are Tuesday 6th May (PM) and Wednesday 7th May (AM)
• To be a homeowner within the Scheme of Management area
• To be able to meet time commitments for attendance and preparation
• To be able to meet requirements for period of appointment
• Have access to a PC to download AMC information via SharePoint
• Have no conflicts of interest in carrying out the role and to maintain confidentiality
• Have a good understanding of committee working and is open to the perspectives of others
• Have a good understanding of the kind of documents that form part of AMC working – including reports, architectural plans and drawings
• Have a good understanding of the history, planning and aesthetics of Letchworth Garden City
• Have an understanding of the function of the Design Principles in relation to Letchworth Garden City
• Have an understanding of the role including the unbiased representation of Freeholders
• Has an understanding and / or experience of appeals procedures
